STVSC37... Dashing Through the Snow!

Hi everyone!!! I had some stamping time last night and I just had to share... :) I received my SU! "Dasher" a week ago and decided to pop into my sweet friends blog at The Craft's Meow (Hi Lisa!!) and seen this fun sketch... Stamp TV Sketch Challenge 37!! The card on the left is the card for the challenge. My 2nd card is a layout I have been wanting to try for some time.
On the challenge card I used DP from DCWV, paper piecing on my Nestie circle cuts and embossed Dasher with white embossing powder. Added snowflakes... the large one is SU! and the small size is Martha Stewart. I added rhinestones to the antlers and the sentiment was so fun to mix using SU! punches to layer.
The second card I free hand cut the landscape out of scrap paper, and used it like a stencil to sponged Chocolate Chip onto Kraft CS. Then I stamped Dasher with Whisper White Craft to emboss in white... well I "FORGOT" to use my Embossing Buddy and ended up have my inked area hold some of the embossing powder too! I decided to see what it would look like after I took the heat gun to it and I LOVED the fun texture and look it gave... so I went with it!! :) My oops worked to my advantage! :) The snowflake is one of last years SU! felt snowflakes, added a boarder using my EK Wave Punch, the sentiment is a $1 stamp at Michael's, and I also used my GellyROll pen around the edges to give more sparkles... Click on photos!
Enjoy!! This week I'm getting ready for a retreat this weekend... CAN I LEAVE "NOW"!! Ha... :) I'm getting excited and have my ideas ready, but not much packed. So my posting might be even less this week. Have a great Sunday evening, thanks for the visit and I very much appreciate your sweet comments!!

SMILES... Michelle :)

Hi Michelle! Both of your cards are awesome! It made me smile when I opened up your blog and saw them. Perfection, as always! I love that deer image with the swirly antlers. Such a nice touch adding the bling! And don't you love it when an "oops" turns out to be the perfect touch! I'll cross my fingers that you'll win the sketch challenge. You did upload it at Stamp TV, didn't you?

I've been feeling punky all day so haven't done much, but I couldn't let the weekend go by without popping in to let you know I'm thinking of you!!!

Love and hugs,
Lisa

Love them both Michelle! I'm seriously going to have to look for those $1 stamps at Michael's. They must have some new ones there now. I really like that sentiment and your snowflakes. Love the little accents on the snowflakes and the gems on the antlers! That wave punch is great for a snow card too. Hope you enjoy your retreat. We are going to have some great weather all week this week and I plan to get in a couple of bike rides before I have to hang the bikes up for the winter:))

Oh, I hope you had a fun time at your retreat! These cards are so wonderful and you know what? I have almost all of these same elements. Even down to the dollar stamp! So, I could do a little CASING. Really, so so pretty and elegant!

I like how you gave the reindeer something to stand on with your "hill". Also adds a lot to your rustic color scheme. I like your oops. Next time you should do it on purpose. Makes it look like there is snow on the ground.
