Punches, More Punches... and Basket Weave!

Morning paper crafters!! Well, it's mid-week and spring starts this weekend... :) So I thought I would share a card that is whimsy, springy and using a variety of SU! punches. This card works for the Cuttlebug and Punches Challenge this week. Also I used the Cuttlebug Weave Tutorial for a "Basket Weave" look on my flower pot!!

This card was started at one of Julie's SU! card classes. We used the Candy Lane DP with Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip and and Pretty in Pink. I changed up the card with adding a Perfectly Paisley embossed background, and did the weaving for the flower pot. Also added some leaves using my SU! 5 petal punch. Then I added my sentiment with a couple brads.

Please don't forget to support the SCS Cares Non-Raffle for the Victorian Bushfires Appeal. I understand more wonderful prizes have been added to have a chance at winning! Spread the word!! I hope you enjoy my card and have a super day at hand!! Think SPRING my friends!! It's coming... SMILES!

"NO" Stamps or Ink... Birthday card!

Happy Monday everyone! Another week closer to spring... Yes! :) Today's card I put together with scraps of cardstock left over on my craft table, DP from this card I posted recently, and I wanted to add sewn stitches around the edges and use my star punches. The shocker is "NO STAMPS or INK" used!

First thought was to make a card that could be used for both male and female. And for all ages! Also challenged myself to not use ribbon... that's hard for me! But, I DID IT!! :)

I started with using my CuttleBug embossing folder on Marigold Morning CS, punched 3 small stars out and added DP behind to show through the larger stars I added over the top! I also added more stars on my die cut "Happy Birthday" and topped the "i" off with a silver star! Then I kicked it up a notch with adding a Chocolate Chip arrow raised by dimensionals. I hope you enjoy this colorful card as I'm kinda on the edge about it. In person it looks nicer than the photo, but you can click on it to get a close-up look!

Thanks for the visit and comments my stamping friends!! Have a super day.... Smiles!! :)

MoJo Monday... A Little Birdie Told Me!

Happy day to you! I finally finished my MoJo Monday card. All good intentions to post it earlier, but better late than never! He... :)

I've been wanting to use my "A Little Birdie Told Me" set. And then I remembered I had this sentiment "April showers bring May flowers" which is from Inkadnkado... everything fell in place from that point. With paper piecing on the bird and umbrella, I used the SAB DP, also I used my Nestie dies and

punched flowers from the DP to match and attached them with glue dots to raise them a bit. Click on the photo's for a closer view.

Also check out SCS for the Victorian Bushfire Appeal non-raffle... SUPER FUN PRIZES to win!!!! I donated a set of Nesties, rub-ons, brads, one of my stamped cards, etc. SU! has donated a ton of items for this non-raffle too along with many other companies and paper crafters! CHECK IT OUT!!

Have a super day and think spring!! Thanks for the visit... Enjoy!!

Browns & Pinks... O'My!!

Right now we're having a major winter storm going through the area. The wind is picking up and the temps are dropping... Burr!! (I have my long johns ready!) On a positive note it's GREAT STAMPING WEATHER!! :)

Last night I had Julie's SU! card class!! We made lovely cards and lots of "girl-talk" with good friends! So FUN... :) So this card was started at class. As I was looking at the sample card, my mind was going crazy on adding a white scallop edge around the oval, using my silver pearls, CB embossing on the Chocolate Chip oval, adding a Regal Rose layer, and adding Pearl White Lumiere to the butterflies... Plus I just had to use my NEW Martha Stewart butterfly punch. Julie has such fun fresh ideas and techniques to share!!

Enjoy everyone! I'm hopping you are staying warm, dry and stamping tonight... we need our therapy.. He! Thanks for the visits and lovely comments... greatly appreciated surfers :)

Spring is in the air... :)

Morning! I hope everyone is having a super Sunday so far... :) We just came home from church and went out for a nice breakfast after. YUM-O! :)

I wanted to make a fun "springy" card, being we still have snow and may have more coming this week. I chased one of Shelley's cards at Stampin' Garden. She used Kristina's Color Inspiration #9 challenge which I just fell in love with the cute tree and button combo. Pop into her blog to see some WONDERFUL eye candy and talent!! Thanks Shelley for the inspiration!

A few tid-bits on the card; I used my Top Note die for the tree image from Season of Friendship, found some fun DP to work with, added the look of grass using "paper frills" that Jolyn (a good friend of mine who lives to FAR AWAY!!) gave me as a gift recently!! The grass was a celery green color so I brayerd over with Old Olive to match the DP. SO FUN! Then I embossed "SPRING" and used my large oval punch. Added ribbon and buttons. Enjoy!!!

I'm sure some of you have colorful buds on your trees and seeing green grass! :) Have a super day stampers and we'll chat again soon... SMILES!!

CC208 and Mojo Monday 76 Challenge... :)

Happy Saturday! I hope your weekend is going well and getting some paper crafting time in. I had good intentions of posting this card early this morning, but computer problems wouldn't allow me. Now were back up and going again!! Yeah... :)

Today's card was inspired by Color Challenge CC208 (Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip and Pink Passion) and MoJo Mondays 76 sketch. I realized I had some DP that would work and the card came together from that point. I pulled out my miscellaneous stamp collection and came across this "CUTE" bear with a fun sentiment (The Angel Company). I stamped the bear image with Craft Chocolate Chip and clear embossed. Then water colored using SU! Markers and Aqua Painter. I added Crystal Effect to the flowers! I also added paper piercing, flat silver pearls, CB embossing, and pink rhinestones... for a twist I added ONE clear rhinestone just before the sentiment. (I'll be honest I ran out of pink!)

Click on the close up photo to see the embossing, water coloring, etc. For the Chocolate Chip bow I used Lisa's tutorial at The Craft's Moew. She has a lovely step-by-step tutorial on how to make one of these gems!! This is my first try and not to bad I might say... :) (Thanks Lisa!!)

Have a super day ladies (gent's too!) I have been stamping since last night and have more to share. Thanks for the kind comments and visits... I LOVE IT! Enjoy... :)

Just Because I Care... :)

Tonight I had a chance to stamp, but LATE! So I thought I would post this card before my P.J.'s start looking for me to get some shut eye... He! :)

This card was inspired by the 2009 Stamp It! Such an awesome magazine with LOTS of ideas... very much worth the purchase my friends! If you look at the front cover... the card at the lower right was my CHASE. Which was designed by Maren Benedict. As you can see I changed the colors, DP, used my Top Note die, stamps are from Pocket Silhouette and Best Yet, and I found some YUMMY American Crafts ribbon in my collection.

The 2nd photo is a close-up look at the layering. I used a 1 1/4" circle punch on the Top Note layer and then stamped my images from Pocket Silhouette on Very Vanilla. Next I took my 1 3/8" circle punch to make the circles a bit larger under the opening. Click on the photo's to get a closer look!! I would love to try this same layout with STARS, FLOWERS, SNOWFLAKES, ETC. Something different and fun... :) Enjoy everyone!

Michelle :)

A Good Egg... "Sun" Fun!!

Hello everyone! We're back home from my Grandma's funeral and getting into our routine now. I want to thank everyone for the lovely comments, e-mails and cards!! GREATLY APPRECIATED and you made my heart smile! :)

Being I haven't stamped for a few days, I have a couple "FUN" cards I've been wanting to share... The first card has a "whimsy" look with the cute chick from A Good Egg floating in a tube. The tube, sunglasses, sun and "Sun Fun" is from the SU! Life's a Breeze set. We made this card at at Diane's workshop and Julie (SU! demonstrator) found this idea on SCS. (NOTE: if anyone knows who to credit this card to I'll be more than happy to post it and link the info!!) I added my CB D'vine Swirls embossing to the background, added Crystal Effect on the sunglasses, Stickles on the sun, and cut a larger orange beak to get more of a 3-D effect. Used my Crop-A-Dial to emboss a row of dots on my orange panel.

The second card is Clean and Simple (CAS) and fun for a child's birthday. Very basic with using circle punches, a couple eye-lets, scrap of ribbon, and small image to color on a metal tag. (Don't look to closely at my coloring, as this was done a while back before I had a handle at blending!) He... :) Click on the photo's to get a close up look. I hope you enjoy and try to have some "SUN FUN"!!
Thanks for the visit and all the fantastic comments given... It makes me smile!! I hope to catch up on my blog visits this week...

OCC Thinking of you... :)

Morning my stamping friends! Hope your weekend is going well... :) I just had to make a "HAPPY" springy card with my new Thoughts and Prayers. I JUST LOVE THIS SET!

I decide to use the OCC Challenge this week. Also giving myself a challenge using Almost Amethyst... It's not a fav of mine. If you could have seen me making this card... I had strange facial expressions and took me 2 hours to figure it out! LOL!
Another challenge is I don't have any Oval Nestie's. So I used an oval template to cut my Whisper White out and then used my scallop scissors. That took me a while, but happy with the out come. If you notice I did some paper piercing on the Almost Amethyst DP which has a Harlequin print. I seen this idea in the latest Paper Crafts Magazine. Also my tree has pink beads attached to give more of a "flower bud" effect. This was inspired by a friend of mine Laura which she made a card using smaller beads in clusters of 3 to give an AWESOME effect... so pretty Laura!! (*wink*)

I hope you enjoy! Thanks for reading my bit of humor in making this card... and I always love your visits!!

Michelle :)
