Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #23... Join in!!

Hello, stamping friends!! Last night I decided to play along with Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #23. When I first looked at the sketch I was kind of taken... hummm! Then a few things came to mind. On my first card I wanted a FRESH & SUMMERY look... because the heat is on here! This card is pretty much all SU! but the rhinestones which I purchased at Michael's and the wave border punch is from EK. I LOVED making these flowers with sponging the edges and curling the petal tips with the bone folder. :)

For my second card I decided to use the Darling Dots set and going lady-bug style!! Behind the black ribbon I added a Real Red panel that was CB embossed to give a tone on tone effect and some texture. It's hard to see in the photo. Again all SU!, but the CB embossing and black stitched ribbon. I just might try another card using the Trendy Tree set... with fall colors! The weather is warming up and I'm thinking fall... LOL!! (can you tell I'm from Minnesota!)

Enjoy your day ladies (guys too!) I'm working on the invites for the township gathering. Keep your summer smiles on... :)

Enjoy... Michelle

I'm always intimidated by the thought of making a long card. I don't know why but I might just have to try one after seeing these two. The flowers on the first card are fabulous. I like that you used all different, but all rich colors. I like how your ladybug is dancing around on the different squares on your second card. Both really fun!

These cards are beautiful Michelle! I love how you crafted the flowers on the first one! The lady bug one is just darling! I like how you staggered the bugs so they look like they are walking across your card. Super cute!!! We are toasty down here with temps in the 90's and crazy humid like August. I'm not ready for this yet:)) I think I should make a Xmas card to get my mind off the heat!

Love both cards but leaning more toward the flowers....I just made a #10 card with Wild About You and my girls loved it. It was inspired by Jill Hilliard (one of her invites). It made it easier to use more than two animals...TFS

OMW, these are both wonderful! Love the flowers and those colors are divine!!! I am intriqued by that wavy punch....very interesting and I love the effect it gives. I am going to have to look for that one.

Love them both very much but, if I have to choose it would be the lady bug birthday one. Something about the black, red and white together! Beautiful work!!

Michelle these cards are beautiful! I will have to take a break do that sketch challenge. I am sorry you couldn't get to my blog with IE. That is what I use most of the time to access it. For me my blog runs slower with Firefox.

LOVE your cards Michelle. I like the way you've done the inking on the flowers and tied the ribbon to one side and I think your ladybugs are sooo cute. The tone on tone looks great too. I had seen this sketch too, but not sure I will get time to fit it in this week. It will definately be one to save for future use though :o) You asked about my little heart. In Blogger, go to the edit html box and type the following;

That should give you a little heart! :o) Hugs, Ruby xx

Wow! These are both amazing cards - I love the fresh colors in the first card with the flowers. What a fantastic way to showcase punches! The second card is just darling - love those ladybugs and the flower, so cute. I almost used trendy trees for my sample, lol!

Oh my word Michelle! These are both so fabulous! I love those flowers...I never think to punch them without the stamp...they look awesome in all that colour, and your ladybugs are adorable! Fabulous!

Wow - you're on a roll, girl! It's really hard to pick a favorite of your four cards. The different colored flowers on the blue really pop - and so I'll have to go with that - but I really do love them all. Fantastic job as usual!

You have totally nailed that sketch Michelle! When you've got it, you've got it.

I'm trying to keep my summer smile going, but I'm starting to melt. Thank goodness for a/c... although I hear the kaching kaching as the a/c runs almost nonstop.

I hope you're having a happy day my friend.
