Happy Saturday!! Are you getting your Christmas cards ready to mail yet? I have my cards made, list of people to send to, addresses, stamps, etc. But no motivation to sit down and start...ha! Tonight I have a holiday party which should get my holiday spirits warmed up. My hubby is working all weekend and he will be missed tonight. Both cards are inspired by the SU! Holiday Mini Catalog... and are hostess sets. The first card I made at the retreat weekend I had in November and I borrowed Diane's Patterned Pines set... THANKS Diane! This card sample in on the back page of the mini and I added the layer of dry embossed snowflakes using my CB Folder then I sponged high spots with SU! Whisper White and edges with Bashful Blue. My second card was done at Julie's card club last month. We followed a card on Page 5 in the mini also. I added the brads, Rose Red CS and 1/2 pearls next to the sentiment. The scarf is paper pieced!! I hope my cards give you some ideas for making yours... I LOVE SEEING all the creative cards in blog land... you rock my friends!! Have a great weekend and keep warm...
SMILES... Michelle :)
Are you ready for Thanksgiving? I can't believe it's already next week... and then the busy time of year getting ready for Christmas! I have 2 more cards to share from my girls/stamping retreat weekend... the first card is using SU! Peaceful Wishes set and the TOP NOTE! :) (That makes me happy!) I CASE'd a similar card on SCS and the artist is Stampintoo. Check out the card I followed. I added the Real Red around the top note, changed my position of the sentiment and added bronze brads. I used liquid applique on the pine cones which was so fun to give more dimension to the card... I made 4 of these at the retreat and shared with Deb, Diane and Mary! (Hi ladies!!) :)My second card was inspired by Dasher... LOVE that single stamp. I like this look to give as a masculine card... or the holidays! The CB embossing adds so much in the background, using my SU! Wide oval punch and Lots of Tags dies works so well with the image. I did use my GellyRoll pen for some sparkle but very hard to see in the photo. And yes, I enjoyed sponging around the edges for an aged look... ENJOY!I'm enjoying the weekend as it's so warm and sunny here. My hubby just left to Bow Hunt till dark. So you know girls what that means... STAMPING TIME!! Fare triad right? He... :) Anyway, I have a few more cards from the retreat to share yet. Stay tune... Have a super weekend and enjoy it in whatever part of the world you live.... SMILES!! Thanks for popping in... Michelle :)
Hello everyone!! I'm back from a weekend of stampin' fun and getting settled in at home. Such a nice time... great food, great conversations and a variety of weather! (rain, snow and sun!) This is one of the cards I made over the weekend and I will be posting more this week. I love the look of black and white with a splash of COLOR! I stamped my flowers in Going Gray and cleaned off the centers with a wet napkin. Then taking my Green Galore and Gable Green markers to fill in. Next I took a sponge to blend, huff and stamp! I added Eucalyptus Stickles at the base for more contrast and sparkle... :)
Now a couple photo's of the Wild Rose Inn where our retreat was. Such a beautiful location as you can see horses grazing and deer coming in from the LARGE craft room which is located on the backside of the barn... yes, I said BARN! This is an old barn converted into a lovely fully equipped retreat center. It has a large kitchen table with benches and chairs to accommodate 12 people. 3 levels with a large loft. Very warm feel!! Each bed has it's own hand sew quilt. This center can be used for quilters also. The craft room! Awesome lighting and large windows. :)Thanks for poppin' in for a visit and have a super day! We'll chat more soon... ENJOY!Stamp and SMILE! Michelle :)

This morning I want to share a few photo's of my Stampin' and Scrapin' weekend in Northern Minnesota. The theme was "Doe Camp 2008" being it was the opening weekend of Deer Hunting season. The first photo has my dog tags for camp and the Doe Camp sign was used to know what barracks we were assigned...HeHe! These are the 2 gals I sat with over the weekend, my friend Deb had to back out and couldn't make it... and I was so sad! (Hi Deb!) There were a total of 29 women... normally 40, but the economy put a damper on that! All meals included over the weekend and lots of great conversation. I'll be posting in a few minutes my card for today! Stay tune... Smiles! :)
Michelle :)
